Sydney Environment Institute's research with FoodLab Sydney

Did you know that approximately 17,000 residents in the City of Sydney are food insecure? 

FoodLab Sydney, a partnership between the University of Sydney, UNSW Canberra, City of Sydney, TAFE and FoodLab Detroit, can provide the support our local food entrepreneurs need to succeed- with your help.

The University of Sydney is applying its expertise in food security research  to work with our partners to create a best practice policy approach that will impact positively on the lives of residents of the City of Sydney now and into the future.

Fund Learning

Your donation will enable us to conduct the evidence-based research that underpins successful interventions to tackle food insecurity through incubation of small food businesses. It will help us build a tailored curriculum through which people gain not only the kitchen skills they need but the business training and mentorship that makes their innovative idea a reality.

Fund People

Your donation will help us to research and apply the best models of participant recruitment and carry out rigorous evaluation of the program to ensure continuous improvement.  It will also fund qualified experts to deliver our student-centred curriculum to FoodLab participants.
